Twinkle Khanna arrested, later released on bail

Twinkle Khanna was arrested on Wednesday by Vakola police but later released on bail of Rs 950 for committing an obscene act at the Lakme fashion week held few days back. She was accompanied by her lawyer, Bhairav Choudhary. To complete the legal formalities, she had to remain in the police station for few hours. To see the drama, a huge crowd gathered outside the police station. Twinkle said to the police that other legal formalities will be done by her husband Akshay Kumar when he will return from his outdoor shoot.

Assistant commissioner of police (Vakola division) Arvind Mahabdi said: “It was a bailable offence and we released her on a bail of Rs 950 at the police station itself. We are now waiting for Akshay.’’ Action taken against the couple following an obscene case registered by a social activist, Anil Nair.

Akshay was to be unbuttoned by a model but he surprised all when he turned towards his wife Twinkle who was sitting on the first row and asked her to do the unbuttoning act. The incident heated up the atmosphere and later Akki had to apologize.

Preity Zinta after splitting away from Ness Wadia is not sitting mum and howling over her break up. Infact, the bold lady has soon found solace in the arm of a new man by the name Vikram Chatwal who is a New York-based businessman and hotelier and onetime model.

Big B to share screen space with Gere

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is going to share screen space with Hollywood actor Richard Gere in his upcoming film ‘Teen Patti’. According to a unit member, "The makers wanted an international name for the cameo. Though other names were also in consideration, they decided on the Pretty Woman actor who is well known to the Indian audience not only as a Hollywood star but also as an AIDS activist who frequently travels to India."

Earlier Pierce Brosnan was assigned to do the cameo but when he opted out, Gere was roped in. Years back Gere hit the headlines for casting packs of kisses on Shilpa’s cheeks during the AIDS awareness campaign. Gere has been a regular visitor to India and he has good connection with Parmeshwar Godrej in relation to AIDS awareness causes.

In ‘Teen Patti’ Mr Bachchan is playing the role of a professor who tutors five of his brightest students to fulfill the mission of high-stake gambling. The star cast includes Madhavan and newcomers, Siddharth Kher, Dhruv Ganesh, Vaibhav Talwar and Shraddha Kapoor (daughter of Shakti Kapoor).

Aamir Khan holidaying without wife Kiran

Perfectionist Aamir Khan had a hectic schedule for the last two years and hardly had he got any free time to spend with his two children. Leaving all his work back, he went for a holiday with his two kids but minus wife Kiran as she is busy with her directional debut ‘Dhobi Ghaat’.

Aamir will also remain disconnected from his fans in coming two months and won’t devote time in blogging, he writes, “I’m going to go off the map for the next two months folks. I think I needed a break in any case, as I was kind of not really there last couple months, if you know what I mean. So I will see you now in June. Or end May. Unless I start turkeying in which case I’ll drop a line. And once I”m back rested from my holiday I’ll be much more connected.”

Aamir Khan had two back to back releases and hits last year, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Ghajini’. He was also busy in shaping up the career of his nephew, Imran Khan. Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na did a superb business at the box office.

Aamir Khan had some promising projects in hand and he will get involved in those projects after rejuvenating himself. His next release is Rajkumar Hirani’s '3 Idiots' with Kareena Kapoor.

Shilpa visits Golden Temple

Amritsar saw a whole host of celebs descend on the city iterally, because a flight had been chartered specially by Shilpa’s friend Kiran Bawa and her dad GS Bawa, so that they could all visit the famous gurudwara.

There was Shakti Kapoor, Aditya Pancholi, Mukesh Rishi, Ekta Kapoor with her parents Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Anand Raj Anand, Jaspinder Narula, Monica Bedi, Abhijeet, Gurdeep and Arjun Punj, Hiten Paintal with his father Paintal, Poonam Dhillon and Anita, Pankaj and Niketan Dheer, among others.
The plane landed at Amritsar airport at 2 in the afternoon. Shilpa was dressed simply in a yellow salwar-kameez, and was accompanied by Raj. Shamita wore a pink suit, and walked alongside their parents Sunanda and Surender Shetty.

The airport was buzzing a huge crowd was waiting to welcome the guests with garlands and flowers. A special police band played a merry tune. The party reached the gurudwara around 3.30 pm. Shilpa immediately covered her head with her duppatta. Inside the gurudwara, again, there was a huge crowd waiting for a glimpse of all the stars. “Just the fact that I’m here is wonderful. I’m happy that my entire family and friends from Bollywood are here with me to do the sewa too,” Shilpa said. Her mother added, “We actually wanted to do some sewa, but looking at the rush here, we couldn’t.” Shamita, protecting her mother from getting pushed around by the crowd, said, “It’s been a great experience, but the rush was maddening and it spoilt our mood.”

Bipasha goes against John

Bipasha Basu is not in the favor of beau John Abraham to cast opposite Vidya Balan and she is making much effort to convince John to walk out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much awaited flick ‘Chenab Gandhi’ in which he will be paired opposite Vidya Balan.

In the past, John and Bipasha had a fight over his pairing opposite Vidya in ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ where the couple seemed to have shared a great on-screen chemistry. Soon after that rumors of their link-up spread far and wide and it is said that jealous Bips had a big tussle with John over the issue. Past record made Bips to convince John to get out of Sanjay’s venture.

A source says, “Bipasha has been coaxing John to step out of the project, but he doesn’t want to back out of a Sanjay Leela Bhansali venture. While the film was scheduled to start in April, it has now been postponed to December 2009 because of this uncertainty. This delay from John has been on purpose because he still hopes Bipasha would cool down. But it doesn’t seem so, as the couple has again begun to have arguments over this issue."

Earlier Harman Baweja was to act in ‘Chenab Gandhi’ but later he was replaced by John.

Katrina gets a new mark on her chest

Getting tattoos on body is not a new trend in Bollywood although Katrina was the last in a row. She inked two tattoos on her soft skin, one on her chest and another on her arm. The tattoos are quite prominent and also erasable. Actually, it was inked on her body for a purpose. It was for a photoshoot for a magazine that she posed on Sunday. She could have remove it but Kat liked it so much that she decided to keep it for some days and not in a mood to erase it so soon.

Katrina Kaif was spotted flaunting her new beauty spot at the wrap-up party of director Rajkumar Santoshi’s film ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ where the entire cast and crew was present. The actress who posed Barbie doll recently was seen in upbeat mood at the party with a new hairstyle. Held at producer Ramesh Taurani’s home in Khar, Katrina was caught laughing and giggling with the guests, especially with her co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

Katrina is flying high these days and all set to create a new image with her non-glamorous role in ‘Rajniti’.

The incident has shocked the unit members. After some medication, she recovered. Director Ashutosh Gowariker was ready to pack up for the day but professional Priyanka barred the director from doing so and she carried on with her work.

She went to the doctor for further treatment only after completing the shoot. Before she is fully recovered, she went ahead to perform at the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009 grand finale also.

Ash annoys Mani Ratnam

Mani Ratnam is a perfectionist. He studies every angle of his film minutely and never compromises his requirements with anything so how can he tolerate the disobedience of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. As Ash is playing Sita in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, he is having a tough time in handling Ash who is doing things according to her own wish and not listening to him. The second part of the film requires Ash sans make-up but the most beautiful women of the world is adamant to put some make-up.

Mani instructed Ash to keep her make-up to the minimum as the scene speaks about her emotions of being separated from her husband. Mani knows that the natural look of Ash would go very well with the scene but who will make Ash understand the matter as she is not in the favor of facing the camera without any decoration. When Mani discovered that Ash has defiled him and she has put some basic make-up, he immediately asked her to wash it off but shockingly he failed to bend her.

Both Ash and Mani had a little difference on that particular issue and they stick to their own demands.

The Lakme fashion week has witnessed sexy Malaika Arora Khan with bulging bump and the news of her pregnancy spread like a fire in the jungle. The news ran so strong that finally Malaika had to come forward to deny the news of her pregnancy. She said, "I think it was falsely reported, I don’t know why. But I’m not pregnant."

She justified her weight gain in the following way, "I eat fried foods, I eat sweets, I eat everything, but I know my limitations and I know when to stop and I know when I have to hit the gym. When I have to be a certain way, It’s only mind over matter."

Malaika is happily married to actor Arbaaz Khan and her relationship is going strong. They are blessed with six years old son, Arhaan.
