`King Khan’ returns home to cast vote in polls, says he is disappointed with KKR performance

Bollywood star and owner of the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders Shahrukh Khan returned here this morning from South Africa to cast his vote during the third phase of general elections on Thursday, but told reporters that he is disappointed with the performance of his team.

He was quoted as saying that he would not be returning to South Africa any time soon till he was assured about his team’s chances of winning the second edition of the IPL.

Asked for his comments on KKR skipper Brendon McCullum reported threat to resign if the team did not make it to the semi-finals, Khan said: “He is fantastic; he just needs to get his batting form in order.”

On former skipper Sourav Ganguly’s rich vein of form, Khna said: “As always fantastic. Dada is playing well. But, we have to win as a team.”

“It’s hard for me to see the boys so demoralized,” Khan said.

Shahrukh eyes Oscar

After delivering some award winning performance in films like DDLJ, Dil To Pagal Hai, Devdas, Swadesh, Pardesh, Mohabatein, Chak De India, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi to name a few, King Khan is now eyeing towards Oscar as he wanted to make things big in an international level. He is sick and tired of national acclamation and wanted to work with renowned directors like Deepa Mehta to pave his way to the Oscar by portraying roles in a serious cinema.

He wanted to taste the flavor of Oscar like AR Rehman who won the best music director award for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and Aamir Khan who at least got to step at the doorstep of Oscar for his crically acclaimed film, ‘Lagaan’. Shahrukh Khan was the first choice of Oscar winner ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ for Anil Kapoor’s role but he had no qualm in rejecting the offer and went ahead to seek Preity Zinta’s advice.

King Khan had reportedly asked Preity Zinta to introduce her to the critically acclaimed director Deepa Mehta on their trip to South Africa for the IPL so that he can do some serious cinema with her after he came to know that Preity has teamed up with Indian-Canadian filmmaker Deepa Mehta for her next film.

Shahid Kapur to act opposite Anushka

The ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ leading lady Anushka Sharma is back with a bang. News is doing the rounds that she has been cast opposite Shahid Kapur. It will be a Yash Raj product and will be directed by one time actor Parmeet Sethi. Comedian Veer Das and Indian Idol contestant and host Meiyang Chang will also be seen in an important role.

Parmeet had a talk with Aditya Chopra and he had given green signal. When asked, Parmeet said, “It’s true that I am planning to make this film but I will speak in depth when I get a go-ahead from the production house (Yash Raj).”

Rafiq of Yash Raj film informed, “Yes, Aditya Chopra has given Parmeet’s film a go-ahead, in fact it’s the only film which was approved by Aditya while he was busy with Rab Ne’s shoot. Shahid and Anushka will be a part of this film.”

Anushka has won the hearts of the millions through her role in RNBDJ and let’s see how much she will be able to impress the audience with her next film.

SRK to promote Sprite

‘Pepsi’ which Shahrukh Khan has been endorsing from decades has dropped him due to his increasing age. He last starred in Youngistaan commercial with Deepika and Ranbir but gradually the Cola Company started feeling SRK mounting in his age and that he is too old for the ad which basically appeals to the young generation. They did not renew the contact with him. To their decision, Shahrukh did not comment anything and accepted their rejection with a smile. Now he has given the appropriate reply to the Cola Company as he has joined hand with a Coke brand, Sprite.

In the new Sprite ad, we will get to see the Kolkata Knight Riders captain Sourav Ganguly acting alongside King Khan. The ad will be aired during the IPL season. Now that Pepsi do not have any Khans, they are repenting.

Shahrukh Khan has taught them a good lesson and now they are crying on their decision.

Aamir Khan holidaying without wife Kiran

Perfectionist Aamir Khan had a hectic schedule for the last two years and hardly had he got any free time to spend with his two children. Leaving all his work back, he went for a holiday with his two kids but minus wife Kiran as she is busy with her directional debut ‘Dhobi Ghaat’.

Aamir will also remain disconnected from his fans in coming two months and won’t devote time in blogging, he writes, “I’m going to go off the map for the next two months folks. I think I needed a break in any case, as I was kind of not really there last couple months, if you know what I mean. So I will see you now in June. Or end May. Unless I start turkeying in which case I’ll drop a line. And once I”m back rested from my holiday I’ll be much more connected.”

Aamir Khan had two back to back releases and hits last year, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Ghajini’. He was also busy in shaping up the career of his nephew, Imran Khan. Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na did a superb business at the box office.

Aamir Khan had some promising projects in hand and he will get involved in those projects after rejuvenating himself. His next release is Rajkumar Hirani’s '3 Idiots' with Kareena Kapoor.

We recently learnt that when Gauri was to introduce Shah Rukh to her parents, she wasn’t so sure how they would react if they found out that he belonged to another community. Bollywood Actor Barred From Contesting Polls

India's Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that a Bollywood actor who has served nearly two years of a six-year prison sentence for illegal arms possession cannot contest India's general elections next month, a news report said.

A three-judge panel of the court refused Sanjay Dutt's plea to suspend his conviction and allow him to stand as a candidate for the Samajwadi, or Socialist Party, because he had been convicted of a serious offense, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.

Supreme Court officials were not available to comment Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Dutt told reporters that he would respect the verdict of the court.

"Sanjay Dutt is a nice man and he wanted to serve people, but this court order has prevented him from doing that, " Rajendra Choudhary, a spokesman for the Socialist Party said adding that the party would also respect the court's verdict.

In July 2007, the actor was sentenced to six years in prison for possession of illegal arms supplied by men convicted in a 1993 Mumbai bomb attack that killed 257 people and was blamed on Islamic extremists.

Mr. Dutt, a Hindu, was arrested in 1994 and had spent a total 20 months in prison when he was released on bail in November 2007 pending an appeal. No hearing date has been approved.

He was acquitted of more serious terrorism and conspiracy charges.

Indian law bans anyone who has been sentenced to serve more than two years in prison from contesting elections.

Voting in India's national elections will begin April 16 and last through May.

Mr. Dutt is popular for his roles as a reformed thug who follows the teachings of nonviolence advocate and Indian independence hero Mohandas Gandhi.

His latest film bit hit was "Lage Raho Munnabhai" or "Carry on Munnabhai," in 2006.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is in for some trouble as the Income Tax department has moved the Supreme Court challenging a seven-month-old order of the Bombay high court, which had given relief to Big B in a case related to his super hit TV show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.

The Income Tax department is not in consensus with the HC order that had agreed to Bachchan claiming a benefit under Section 80RR of the Income Tax Act which provides 30% tax relief on income of artistes from outside India.

According to the department, Big B was an anchor of ‘KBC ’ and not an artist. Moreover, the income to be categorised under Section 80RR must have either come from abroad or the artist must have performed outside India but in this case the show was shot in Mumbai itself hence, no tax relief should be granted.The dispute over taxation is on a total earning of Rs 13 crore which Bachchan earned from ‘KBC’.

Shah Rukh Khan Will Change His IPL Team Name

It is being suspected that Shahrukh Khan has been discarding his IPL team captain because he was suggested by his numerologist that number 8 is not favorable for him and he should remove the name Kolkatta from his IPL team logo. Saurav Ganguly is a number 8 person and hence he had to be replaced by somebody who is luckier for Khan. Many numerologists have been predicting that the number 8 is not only unlucky for Shahrukh but the number has been harming him and it was said that when Shahrukh entered his 44th year of life that summed to 8, he had to suffer the shoulder injury and he was kept out of action for the health issue.His film “Billu” did not perform well on box office and the use of Black color in team jersey was also opposed by astrologists.
